During the month of October, LHS had what the Student Council called, “Stressful Wednesday.” On October 29, we had Costume Day. Out of the five Wednesdays during the month, I believe this day had the most participation.
Everyone’s costumes were great. There were Sumo wrestlers, guys dressed as girls and witches galore. Everyone was laughing with and at each other. This was a wonderful day of fun!
The whole point of these days was to raise a competition between staff and students for a year-round event. Each person who dressed up received a point for their class, whether it was freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors or staff. The outcome for this month was staff in first place with 191 points, seniors in second place with 144, sophomores in third place with 141, freshmen in fourth place with 123, and Juniors in last place with 100.
Thank you to all those who participated in this October’s competition. Get your canned goods out, because November’s competition is a food drive! As of the second week of November, LHS will begin collecting cans, hopefully 1600 – one for every student and faculty member at LHS.
