FARMINGTON – The Police Department is reminding people that there is a winter parking ordinance in Farmington. Parking on any street, public way or town-owned or leased parking lot is not allowed from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. except along Main Street, which will be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., from Nov. 15 to April 15. The ban is also in effect during any part of the day when parking would block snow removal efforts. The owner of any vehicle parked during these times is subject to a penalty of $10 and to having their vehicle towed at their expense. The ordinance does not apply to the Front Street parking lot but does include the Bjorn lot, Park Street parking lot, Park ‘N Ride, the town office parking lot, the Community Center parking lot and Broadway Municipal “Keyes Square” parking lot.
