AUBURN – Two new firefighters have joined the fire department. Both are trained medics.

Daniel Masselli of Jay is an emergency medical technician and Geoffery Low of Norway is a paramedic.

Both completed a 12-month, on-the-job training program that included drills and studies in firefighting and rescue techniques.

Masselli and Low each passed practical and written exams and received high evaluations from superior officers, according to assistant Fire Chief Cam Martin.

Both men are assigned to D Platoon under the leadership of platoon Chief Bruce Goddard. Low is assigned to Engine 3 as a driver and operator. Masselli is assigned as third man on Ladder 1.
