CHARLESTON – Impressing Memories, a firm that specializes in creating personalized products using the dye sublimation process, announces Operation: Mug a Troop, which will provide a free troop appreciation mug, personalized with the troop’s name and rank.

Operation: Mug a Troop will give approximately 100 personalized mugs to the 619th Co. of Auburn.

Kerry Birmingham, state director for the Family Assistance Center for the Army National Guard, is working with the firm for the 133rd Battalion, which will deploy soon.

The mugs are being sold through a grassroots effort of churches, businesses and civic organizations, and more are invited to participate.

Scholarships

BAR HARBOR – The Nell Goff Scholarship Committee of the Bar Harbor Garden Club, St. Croix District, announces two scholarships.

The Garden Club Federation of Maine Scholarship is for $2,500 and the Goff is $1,000. The application deadline for each is March 1. Students must be Maine residents. The applicants will be judged on academic record, vocational potential, avocational interests, character and financial needs.

Seek families

DURHAM – World Heritage, a public benefit organization, is seeking local host families for high school boys and girls from Spain, France, Germany, Thailand, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland or Brazil through the World Heritage International Student Exchange Program.

Families may select the student of their choice from applications, photo collages and biographical essays. Once paired, students and families are encouraged to begin corresponding prior to the student’s arrival.
