JAY – Senior forward Marc Kelvey scored 15 points to pace Jay to a 56-51 victory over Lisbon in MVC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
Ryan DiPompo and Jacob Farrington recorded 12 points apiece, while Kelvey and Zach Charles hauled down 15 and 14 rebounds, respectively, for a strong Tiger (4-2) defensive effort. Jay led 27-26 at the half and inched ahead with two-point margins in the third and fourth quarters.
Jared Martin led all scorers with 19 points, including four 3-pointers for the Greyhounds (4-2).

TOPSHAM – Andy Cantrell poured in 19 points to lead Mt. Ararat to a 65-56 win over Nokomis in boys’ Class A basketball action Saturday evening.
The Eagles (5-0) took a 28-23 lead into the intermission behind the hot shooting of Cantrell , Todd Strong (14 points) and Collin Mey (13 points). Mey scored nine of his 13 points in a decisive 24-9 third period to account for the margin of victory.
Nokomis was paced by Evan McDanie with a team-high 19 points iuncluding five 3-pointers in the loss.
