1934 – 2004

BRUNSWICK – Barbara L. Boppel, 69, of 35 Peary Drive, died Friday, Jan. 9, at Mid Coast Medical Center.

She was born in Weld, June 30, 1934, a daughter of Carroll and Charlotte Bartlett Libby. She graduated from Buckfield High School.

She married Frederick W. Boppel March 31, 1973 in Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Boppel moved here in May 1973.

She enjoyed sewing, crafts and made many stuffed rabbits.

She was a member of Maine Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of Brunswick; a daughter, Karen Knight and her husband David Kimball of Gorham; two sons, Daniel Knight and his wife Janet of Topsham, and Ronald Knight and his wife Darlene of Newmarket, N.H.; four sisters, Eleanor Fish of Weld, Jean Goodwin of Rumford, Dawn Pratt of Wilton, and Gloria Jones of Canton; a brother, Lester Libby of Rumford; and five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Katherine Hathaway, Patricia Libby, Corrinne McKinney, and M. Julia Smith; and two brothers, James Libby and Carroll Libby Jr.
