PORTLAND – Frank C. Morang Sr., 58, a resident of Birchwood Road in Gray, died, Friday, Jan. 9, at Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 24, 1945 in Portland, son of Charles B. and Irene A. Moran Morang. He was a lifelong resident of the Portland area and graduated from Portland High School with the Class of 1964.
Mr. Morang was a lifelong entrepreneur. His many business ventures included owning a restaurant, retail store, and many apartment buildings. He also built and remodeled numerous homes and businesses over the past four decades as owner of Frank Morang Sr. General Contracting.
He attended the Anglican Cathedral of St. Paul of Portland and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of South Portland.
He will be remembered and honored for the special way he touched so many people. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own. His kind heart and giving nature were felt by all that knew and admired him. His generosity was also extended to others who did not have the benefit of knowing him through his quiet donations made to many Portland area families, particularly around the holidays.
