1931 – 2004

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. – Joseph Maurice “Mike” Durocher, 72, husband of Lorraine (Moreau) Durocher of South Windsor, Conn., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, at home after a long illness with heart disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Born in Lewiston, on Sept. 15, 1931, son of the late Arthur and Alice (Brisson) Durocher, he lived there until moving to South Windsor in 1965. In 1949, he graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in Lewiston and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.

Before retiring in 1992, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn., for 27 years. Mr. Durocher was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor, where he was very active in various activities.

He was a member of the Hartford VFW and volunteered for the elementary schools in South Windsor.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan Durocher of Windsor, Conn., and David and Lou Durocher of Wethersfield, Conn.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Stephen Chuck of South Windsor, Diane and Rick Mozzer of Mt. Morris, N.Y., Donna and Tony Mercure of South Windsor and Debra and John Puchalla of New Rochelle, N.Y.; a brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Gisele Durocher of Lewiston; 10 wonderful grandchildren, Trisha, Jonathan, Christopher, Michelle, Drew, Ryan, Jay, Kyle, Kevin and Joseph; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless dear friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Donna Mercure, a registered nurse, for her father’s healthcare and to Rev. Jeremiah N. Murasso for his compassionate and spiritual support.
