1924 – 2004

LEWISTON – Marcella B. Guerrette, 79, of 41 Oxbow Drive, Country Lane Estate, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Marshwood Health Care Facilities.

Born in Stockholm, Dec. 30, 1924, a daughter of Paul and Elise Plourde Bernaiche, she resided in this community since 1944.

She was married to Gerard L. Guerrette on July 27, 1946, and he died April 10, 1999. Mrs. Guerrette was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Parish and the Ladies of Ste. Anne’s Sodality.

She worked as a welder at Bath Iron Works during World War II and also worked as a stitcher in the shoe industry and at Paine Incense Co., prior to her retirement.

Survivors include six daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ann Dubois and Claude of Lewiston, Jacqueline Roy and Robert of Lewiston, Pauline J. Goulet of Lewiston, Irene M. Poulin and Roger of Lewiston, Susan K. Olmsted and David of Auburn and Teena M. Guerrette of Lewiston; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Maurice Bernaiche and wife, Madeleine of Hiram and Roger Bernaiche and wife, Mary of Texas.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Anita Byrd and Lorraine Dupuis; and a brother, Richard Bernaiche.
