LEWISTON – Lewiston scored three goals in the final two minutes Saturday night, including an empty netter, to remain unbeaten with a stunning 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Waterville.

Nate Gruz scored twice in that span, and Jason Dube added the game-winner for the Blue Devils (10-0).

Micha Plaisted opened the game with a goal for the Panthers (3-8) at the 3:14 mark of the first period and responded again three minutes after the Blue Devils had tied it in the second stanza.

With two minutes remaining in regulation and looking as though Lewiston’s perfect season might end, the team kicked it up a notch and scored back-to-back goals by Gruz and Dube in short fashion. Gruz then added an empty net goal in the final seconds to clinch the win.

Waterville goalie Joe Fonollosa faced a barrage of shots, making 42 saves in the hard luck loss. Nick Langlais make 16 saves for the Blue Devils.
