PLYMOUTH, N.H (AP) – Five Plymouth State University students involved in a hazing-related car crash that killed a sorority pledge from Rhode Island have been cleared of wrongdoing by the school’s judicial board.

The students were pledging an unofficial sorority at the time of the accident.

Kelly Nester, 20, of Coventry, was one of 10 women in the SUV that crashed near campus on Oct. 20. The crash ejected her out the back window and injured the others, some of whom were blindfolded.

The SUV driver, Nicole Dalton of Rochester, 20, told police she skidded on wet leaves at the time of the crash.

Police have said Dalton may have been purposely jerking the steering wheel just before the accident.

Dalton’s lawyer has said that was not true.

School officials would not say if hearings are being held for the four sorority sisters accused of hazing the pledges.
