AUBURN – Jessica Newton tallied 28 points as Central Maine Community College rolled past the University of Maine at Augusta with a 77-47 win on Monday evening.

Ashley Swett drained 24 points while Nicole Hutchinson added 16 points to the Mustnags (9-2) win.

The Moose (4-13) effort was paced by Danielle Duvall with 14 points.

UMA 69, CMCC 68

AUBURN – Coop Nickerson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer Monday to lift the University of Maine at Augusta to a 69-68 win over Central Maine Community College. Nickerson led the Moose with 27 points, while Greg Thibodeau chipped in with 17 and Chris Melgard added 12.

Josh Berard led the offensive attack for Central Maine with a game-high 29 points, while Pat Dempsey tallied 13 and Chris Brackett added 12. The Moose were down by three at the break, then rallied back late in the going to steal the win.
