LOVELL – The Democrats’ town caucus will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, in the town office on Route 5.

Maine no longer includes a presidential primary, so a local caucus is the most grass-roots aspect of all political activities, organizers say.

This year, Lovell will have three delegates to Maine’s state convention on May 21-23 in Portland. Delegates to the state convention will be chosen at the town caucus.

Unenrolled voters can register with a political party during the first half hour on caucus day or any time before. Contact the town office for a registration card.

Absentee voting is also available. People who are unable to attend the caucus in person, can register by mail by contacting the Maine Democratic Party at 622-6233 and requesting an absentee form or by registering on line at mainedems.org

For questions about the Lovell caucus, people can contact Toni Seger, caucus convener, at 928-3712.
