1915-2004

NORWAY – James E. Everett Jr., 88, of Mason Township died Friday, Jan. 30 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Norway on November 19, 1915 the son of James Sr., and Rose Gunn Everett. He graduated from Norway High School.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a road man for United Shoe Machinery Co. for many years. He also worked for the seniors program at White Mountain National Forest.

He enjoyed working in the forest, he was an outdoors person. He was a gunsmith, an avid hunter and a Maine Guide. He was a member of the Bethel Lodge #97 AF & AM where he received his 50-year pin and past High Priest of Cumberland Chapter.

He is survived by: his wife, the former Flora Dwyer of Mason Township; two sons, Robert and his wife, Camilla, of Bethel and James and his wife, Linda, of Jenison, Mich.; two grandsons; four great grandchildren; several stepchildren; and a brother, David and his wife, Mary, of Mason Township and Norway.

He was predeceased by his first wife, C. Elizabeth; and a sister, Rose Ann.
