1951 – 2004

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Norman W. Grindle Jr., 52, died at St. Vincents Hospital, Manhatten, N.Y., on Jan. 25.

He was born in Ellsworth on July 30, 1951, the son of Norman W. Sr. and Iola (Pinkham) Grindle. He was educated in the schools of Ellsworth. He married the former Charlene Stillwell.

He worked as a long haul driver. He loved his family very much and loved to play his guitar and sing. He was also very proud of being a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE.

He accomplished his three goals in life, to play in a band, drive tractor trailers over the road and to go deep sea fishing.

He is surivied by his beloved wife, Charlene; five children, Norman the III, Edie, Brie, Vicky and Derek; five stepchildren, Rita, Billie Jo, Steven, Lowell Jr. and Wesley; two brothers, Richard and wife, Linda of North Turner, and Louis and wife, Claire of Ellsworth; one sister, Diane Stubbs and husband, Austin; 18 grandchildren; loving nieces and nephews; his very special best friend, his brother-in-law, Jack Wentworth; and very special aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his parents.
