1936 – 2004
BRIDGTON – Harry William Starbird, 68, of Sweden died Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Bridgton Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 6, 1936, in South Paris the son of Ruth Chapman Cummings and Donald I. Starbird. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He had been a metal fabricator for G.E. in Lynn, Mass., for 30 years, retiring in October of 1991.
He married Ruth Hoyle on June 10, 1956. He was deeply involved in the Haverhill Gun Club, Barnstormers Square Dance Club and Collipi Round Dance. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS and the NRA. More recently he was involved with the Fryeburg and Bridgton Snowmobile clubs and the G.E. Retirees Association.
He is survived by his wife of Sweden; two sons, Douglas and Jerrianne and Donald and his wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Joshua, Gregory and Stacy; an uncle, Stephen Starbird; brothers, Glenn and Gene Starbird and Herbert Cummings; a sister, Betty Barker; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Gatchell; and mother-in-law, Winnie Hoyle.
