WELLS (AP) – Yet another dead, mutilated seal has been found in New England.

It’s the ninth seal believed killed by poachers and was found last week in Wells, Maine.

Four dead seals were discovered this month in Massachusetts, two in Plymouth and two on Cape Cod. They were in addition to four seals found previously along the Maine and New Hampshire coast.

Officials believe the seals were killed and skinned to sell their sex organs overseas as aphrodisiacs.

Authorities have set up a toll-free hotline for information on any of the cases. It is: 800-853-1964.
