Jeep enters 2004 with a new appearance and expands the Grand Cherokee model line. Timeless design is accentuated by a new grille, fascia and new fog lamp appearance, exhibiting an authentic Jeep character.
The model line is expanded to five, including: Laredo, the new Special and Freedom Editions, and the Limited and Overland models. The top-of-the-line Grand Cherokee Overland model is powered by 4.7-liter High Output V-8 engine, and features a high level of standard equipment and premium appointments, making it the most powerful and luxurious Grand Cherokee ever. A new Navigation Radio is offered as a factory-installed option for the first time, combining a 4.9-inch full-color display, AM/FM Stereo, CD Player and GPS navigation system in one unit.
Standard safety features include next-generation front airbags, self-adjusting low-tension three-point front belts, height-adjustable shoulder belts and a LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) system for mounting the new generation of aftermarket infant child seats. Also available are power-adjustable brake and accelerator pedals.
Both two-and four-wheel drive Grand Cherokee models are available. Systems include Select-Trac; Quadra Trac I; Quadra Trac II; and Quadra Drive, combining Quadra Trac II with Vari-Lok.
