GMC’s Envoy series SUVs have a new family member for 2004, the all-new Envoy XUV. The XUV provides unprecedented levels of flexibility, functionality and state-of-the-art technology.
A power-sliding rear roof easily converts the cargo area from fully enclosed to open air at the touch of a button. The rear roof opening allows carrying large or tall items upright. This innovation complements the available power-operated sunroof without covering it.
Along with its power-sliding rear roof, XUV’s advanced Midgate is key to its versatility and can be raised or lowered with the push of a button. The rear cargo area is engineered to be weather-resistant, with an innovative QuickDrain system.
A dual-function tailgate provides increased flexibility. The tailgate power window can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button. With the window fully lowered, the tailgate can be dropped for ease of loading and unloading. The tailgate also swings right, allowing bumper access to the cargo area.
Standard power for Envoy XUV is the Vortec 4200 4.2L 24-valve, dual-overhead-cam inline six-cylinder engine, rated at 275 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque. A 5.3 liter OHV V-8 is available. Envoy XUV is available in either 2WD or 4WD.
