1927 – 2004
LEWISTON – Geraldine “Gerry” Sarah Wilmer Chasse, 76, of 100 Campus Ave., passed away at d’Youville Pavilion on Monday, Feb. 16, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness. She is now with her buddy “Pete,” whom she has missed greatly since his passing on Oct. 17, 2003.
Born in Lisbon, July 16, 1927, to Florabelle Irene Savage, she attended Lisbon schools. “Gerry” married Lionel “Pete” Chasse on Jan. 15, 1948, and enjoyed many things in her lifetime with Pete, including barn dances on Beech Hill Road, snowmobiling, going to the ocean and of course her true passion, traveling.
For the past five years she and Pete lived at Kokatosi Campground in Raymond in the summer months where they made many lasting friendships. They traveled to Florida in the winter months. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include four children, Sharon Demeritt and her husband, Duane, Ronald Chasse and his wife, Sandy, Diane Chasse and her companion, Doug Ellison and Tammy Trafford and her husband, Jeff; her grandchildren, Scott Pray, Jen Lowell, Michelle Blais-Cifelli, Sabrina Sirois, Jessica Chasse, Sarah Trafford and Brian Trafford; and her great-grandchildren, Travis Lowell, Olivia Pray, Gavin Chasse and Daniel Cifelli.
