LIVERMORE FALLS – Livermore Falls High School students are challenging the community to help make dreams come true.
As part of their community service requirement, the school’s Jobs for Maine’s Graduates program has planned a service-learning project to benefit Maine’s Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Jobs for Maine’s Graduates members recently sponsored a drive to benefit the foundation during Winter Carnival week. The four grades competed to see who could collect the most items. As a result, they collected more than 800 items for the foundation, which was created to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
In an effort to help the foundation grant wishes, the program members decided to collect as many small items from the foundation’s “wish list” as possible.
If area residents would like to help with the item drive, they’re being asked to contact any of the high school’s JMG students or teacher Michelle Merrill (897-3428, ext. 214) until March 1.
