1919 – 2004

LEWISTON – Donald G. Bullis, 84, of Mechanic Falls died Monday, March 1, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Haverhill, Mass., on Nov. 21, 1919, the son of Eric and Viola Griffin Bullis. He graduated from Concord High School in Concord, N.H. He had been retail department manager at Globe and Giant Dept. Stores in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He married Mary A. Densmore on March 22, 1945. He was an avid reader. He was secretary of Gideon International and a member of Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Mechanic Falls where he taught Sunday school for many years. He was well known for putting Bibles in hotels.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Mechanic Falls; a son, Donald of Portland; two grandchildren, Ryan and Daniel both of Portland; two sisters, Janet of New Hampshire, and Yvonne of Maine; four brothers, Buddy and Oscar both of New Hampshire, Neil of Massachusetts, and Billy of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
