WELD – The Weld Elementary School announces that sixth-grader Tash Doughty, son of Richard and Naomi Doughty, has qualified to represent the school and participate at the state level of the National Geographic Bee. The state bee will be held on Friday, April 2, at the University of Maine at Orono.

To qualify, Doughty won the school bee and then took a written test. To compete at the state level he had to be one of the top 100 scorers in the state. The winner of the state bee will go to Washington, D.C., to for national competition.
