AUBURN – The National Association of Insurance Women – Androscoggin Valley will meet Wednesday, March 10, at the Martindale Country Club, Beech Hill Road.
A social time will be held at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 5:45. The group will hold a joint meeting with NAIW Central Maine.

Degree Day
GREENE – Degree Day will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Androscoggin Grange 8. The four degrees will be conferred on new candidates by Pomona Master Wayne Sherman.
A light supper will be served during a break between the second and third degrees. Candidates from other granges are welcome.

Author to speak
LEWISTON – The Y-Ettes will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, at the YWCA, East Avenue. Tamra Wight, owner of the Poland Spring Campground and author of a children’s book, “The Three Grumpies.” She will discuss “Life as an Author.” Bertha Normand and Ruth Straehle will be hostesses.
Meditation

DAR session
AUBURN – Mary Dillingham Chapter, DAR, will meet at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the Court Street Baptist Church. Eight high school seniors will be honored as DAR Good Citizen and DAR Good Citizenship award winners. Dennis Stires, historian, will be speaker. A reception for students, faculty and guests will follow.
OES meetings
AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. A potluck supper will be served at 6:15 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend the meeting.
The chapter will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, to confer degrees of the order at the Masonic Hall. All Easter Star members are invited to welcome the new members. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the session.
Bridge play
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 2 were: first, Martine Begert and Jeanine Kivus; second, Nancy Lindgren and Dick Horne; third/fourth tie, Patricia Garcia and David Lock with Maude Abbott and Claire Lyons; fifth in A, first in C, Terry Gendron and Larry Fortier; second in C, Betty and Doug Sise.
Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on March 3 were: first, Ann Riley and Les Buzzell; second, Paul Barber and Luke Merry; third, Patricia Garcia and Jeanine Kivus; fourth, Tom Dahlberg and David Wallace.

Registrations are being accepted at the Lewiston Adult Education office for the “Play of the Hand” bridge course that will begin at 4 p.m. Monday, March 15.
