PARIS – Paris Lodge 94, AF and AM, will hold a special meeting Tuesday, March 9, at the lodge home in South Paris. Supper will be at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 7:30.

Lenten speaker
PARIS – Deering Memorial United Methodist Church will hold its Lenten luncheon series at noon Thursday, March 11, when soup, salad and sandwich will be available.
The Rev. Don Mayberry, pastor of the First Congregational Church of South Paris, will be guest speaker.
Library zoo
NORWAY – The Norway Memorial Library announces a new theme for the Discovery Area. During March and April, children ages 6 to 12 are invited to learn about zoos. Children will be given the opportunity to turn an unfriendly zoo into a animal friendly zoo.
There will be two Saturday morning activities during March. From 10:30 a.m. to noon March 13, children can make animals for the zoo, and from 10:30 a.m. to noon March 27, children can create an animal friendly environment.

Church theme
NORWAY – “What Our Congregation’s Life Has in Common with St. Patrick’s Day” will be the message at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday, March 14, at the Norway Unitarian Universalist Church.
The service will be led by the Rev. Joy Gasta, with Heather Pierson, musical director, and the choir. Religious education starts at 11:15.
Children attend the first part of the service with their parents.
A coffee social immediately follows the service. The church is located at 479 Main St.
Sermon topics
PARIS – The Rev. Walter Webb, pastor of the Deering Memorial Methodist Church in South Paris will speak on “Compassion for a Sheep” on Sunday, March 14. All services start at 10 a.m.
Children will leave the sanctuary for classes after the pastor’s message for them. Coffee hour follows the service.
Upcoming topics include “Compassion for a Nobody,” March 21; “Compassion for Enemies,” March 28; “The Critical Moment,” April 4.
