Dear Sun Spots: I think I have the Strombies recipe that Mr. Elliott wanted March 12.

A co-worker at Shop ‘n Save gave this to me years ago:

Strombies’ ingredients: 3 pounds hamburger meat, 1 pound American yellow cheese, 3 good size green peppers, 3 good size onions, 2 good size garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon crushed red peppers. Method: Cut green peppers, onions and garlic up small. Mix all together. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 2½ hours. Stir about three times. Serve on toasted hot dog rolls. A note: Do not use a cover. Use aluminum foil instead. A cover would be hard to clean. – Carrie and Connie Child, Peru.

Dear Sun Spots: Where did the “Ask Jim” column go in the Sun Journal’s Sunday edition? I miss the computer info, as I am sure others do! – K. Corkum, Jay.

Answer:
It was planned for last week’s Sunday paper, however, a travel advertisement was placed in its slot instead. It should be back shortly.

Dear Sun Spots: Help! I’ve been trying, without luck, to find some food that my aged cats can eat. Now I turn to you for assistance.

I have two, aged house cats. They used to eat Little Friskies Dry Senior Food that contained lamb and rice. They have tender tummies and vomit just about everything else. As of late July, Shaw’s stopped carrying it. I’ve looked it up on the Internet and it noted that Shaw’s in Windham and Brunswick carry it. But in checking with Shaw’s, this is not so. They stopped carrying it because there was no call for it. I did not find another brand of food that contained the lamb and rice but now both cats are gaining weight and that is not good.

I hope you can help. – Judy Baird, Auburn.

Answer:
Sun Spots has checked with Terry Donilon at Shaw’s who says Nestle Purina discontinued Friskies Dry Senior in September 2003. As an alternative, Nestle Purina recommends the Purina Cat Chow Senior 18 oz box.

In addition, Donilon says you can contact Nestle Purina at (800) 551-7392 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.) or via their Web site at www.purina.com, which has a tremendous amount of Pet information, including pet product information. You may also want to view the Cat Chow website at www.catchow.com for information on the Cat Chow items.

Dear Sun Spots: While on vacation in New York, I bought a lottery ticket. Could you please find out what the numbers were for The Big Game – Mega Millions for Tuesday, March 9? Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
The winning numbers for Tuesday, March 9, are 16, 23, 29, 36, 51 and the Mega Ball was 49.
