FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Community Orchestra will perform its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in Nordica Auditorium on the campus.

It will feature horn soloist Iann Shippee in the Horn Concerto No. 1 by Richard Strauss. Shippee is a UMF senior majoring in elementary education. The conductor will be Graybert Beacham.

The orchestra will also perform “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copland and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major.

The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and free for UMF students with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at Mickey’s Hallmark on Main Street or the UMF Bookstore or by calling the UMF Department of Visual and Performing Arts, 778-7072.
