1941 – 2004
TOGUS – Timmy Fitzgerald passed away Tuesday, March 23, at the Veterans Hospital.
Born in Rumford, Sept. 8, 1941, the son of Leo Fitzgerald and Irene Ouellette Fitzgerald, he attended Stephens High School.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy while stationed in Hawaii. He returned to Rumford and was employed at Boise-Cascade.
He married Darlene Fifield on Oct. 20, 1979, and they resided at Roxbury Pond. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering around his home and loved working in his garden.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Roxbury; two sons, Thomas Dayon and his wife, Melinda of Petal, Miss., and Fred Fifield and his wife, Ann of Rumford; two daughters, Linda Thornton and her husband, Joe of Rumford and Kelly Greene of Rumford; 15 grandchildren, Colby and Ryan of Mississippi, Jami, Joshua, Jacob and Jordan of Rumford, Joshua, Timmy and Natasha of Andover, Chelsea, Alyssa and Jon-Thomas of Rumford and Sherwood, Ashley and Susan of Rumford; and two nieces, Lynda Allen and Gwen Clark, both of Mexico.
He was predeceased by his dad, Leo in 1978; his mom, Irene in 2000; and his sister, Carol Thibodeau in 2003.
