NEW SHARON – The New Sharon Congregational Church will offer a take-out bean dinner from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 3. The dinner includes 1 quart of baked beans, 1 pint of cole slaw, rolls or brown bread and a whole homemade pie for $12.

Spaghetti supper

SALEM – A spaghetti supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at the Salem Community Building to benefit Ray Howard, who has had increased medical expenses recently. The menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, homemade bread and desserts. Sponsored by the Salem Pine Tree Club and the Salem Volunteer Fire Department.

Supper, show

STRATTON – The Stratton Parent-Teacher Committee will offer a baked bean supper along with hosting the Eddington-based Back Door Dancers performing their “Zoot Suit Review” on Saturday, April 3, at the Stratton Community Building.

The supper begins at 5 p.m. and features music by the Stratton All-Star Steel Drum Band. At 7 p.m., the dancers will take the stage to perform dances of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s including the Lindy Hop, the Cha-Cha, the Charleston, Fox Trot, Swing and others.

Admission is $8 for the supper and Zoot Suit Review. To attend just the dance portion of the evening, admission is $5. There is a special rate for families of 5 or more.

District meeting

FARMINGTON – Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its monthly board meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the USDA Service Center at 107 Park St. The meeting is open to the public. Blacksmiths to gather

WILTON – The Western Maine Blacksmith’s Association will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Wilton Historical Society. FARMINGTON – The Veterans’ Service officer’s next visit to Farmington will be from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 20, at the municipal building.

College planning

JAY – There will be a college planning information session for parents of junior students at Jay High School at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, in the Jay High School Library. Information covered will include general college search information, college visitation, admissibility, financial aid and resources. The program is hosted by the Jay High School guidance department.
