CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Sugarloaf/USA has invited some of New England’s top rail riders to take part in the first Budweiser Rail Jam on Saturday, April 3.

A series of urban rail features will be built on The Landing just above the Base Lodge for the spectator-friendly street-style handrail event where pro riders and skiers will compete for cash and prizes.

The event starts at 5 p.m. with the John Cate Band performing outside the lodge. There will be opportunities for people to win skis, snowboard and prizes.

The Rail Jam invitational will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display.

“We wanted to create an event where spectators can see up close the phenomenal tricks these talented riders can do in a way that will be a celebration of the upcoming spring,” said Bobby Brown, Sugarloaf’s marketing manager.
