JAY – Back by popular demand, the second annual Disco-For-Life will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, April 3, at the Amvets on Main Street. The Disco-For-Life is a dance and raffle to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay-For-Life. Those attending are invited to dress disco and to come enjoy four hours of non-stop disco music and dancing. Literacy Volunteers’ Scrabble

FARMINGTON – Literacy Volunteers’ Spring Scrabble Fest will be held Saturday, April 3, in Ricker Hall Addition, Rooms 202 and 205, on the campus of the University of Maine at Farmington. Registration will start at 12:15 p.m. with game play from 1 to 3:45 p.m., followed by an awarding prizes. To pre-register, call Literacy Volunteers at 778-3450 or mail your registration to: 108 Fairbanks Road, Farmington, ME 04938. Pre-registration is $6 or $5 for seniors/students and it is $7/$6 at the door. Volunteers invited the public to come play Scrabble, eat goodies, have fun and win prizes all while supporting the local Literacy Volunteers who train tutors to teach adults to read and to function in society. There are more than 100,000 adults in Maine who have difficulty reading. Volunteers worked with over 100 students in Franklin County last year.

Longaberger Basket Bingo

FARMINGTON – A Longaberger Basket Bingo event will be held Sunday, April 4, at the Elks Lodge in West Farmington. The doors will open at 11 a.m. and the games will start at 1 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Farmington Elks Lodge, will benefit the eighth grade Hawaii Exchange Program at Mount Blue Middle School. Farmington – Free demonstration classes for Music Together, a music and movement program for children from birth through age 4, will be held Wednesday, March 31, at 10:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Thursday, April 1, at 10:15 a.m. in Farmington.
