1921 – 2004

LEWISTON – Germaine C. Davis, 82, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston and formerly of 95 Nichols St., Lewiston, died Sunday evening, April 4, at d’Youville Pavilion, with her loving family by her side, following a long illness.

Born in Berlin, N.H., June 8, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Jeanne (Plourde) Cadoret, she had been a resident of this community since 1952.

She had been employed as a registered nurse by the Fellowship House of Lewiston, until her retirement.

She attended Berlin High School and was a graduate of St. Louis School of Nursing of Berlin.

She later joined the U.S. Army Nurses Corps and served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. Mrs. Davis enjoyed reading, knitting and listening to music.

Survivors include two daughters, Camille J. St. John and her husband, Holger of San Diego, Calif., and Denise Hornbeak and her husband, Tom of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif.; two sons, Gordon Davis of Old Orchard Beach and Wirt L. Davis of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons, Alexander St. John of San Diego, Calif., and Kevin Hornbeak of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Calif.; one sister, Lorraine Jeffrey of Berlin, N.H.; and one niece, Nancy Dumoulin of Berlin, N.H.

She was predeceased by one brother, Robert Cadoret; two stepbrothers, Lucien and Leo Marcotte; and one brother-in-law, Harvey Jeffrey.
