1932 – 2004

LEWISTON – Roger R. Ouellette, 71, died peacefully Saturday morning, April 3, with his devoted wife and loving children by his side, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

He was born in Livermore Falls, on June 20, 1932, the son of Donat and Alma (Lepage) Ouellette. Educated locally, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School Class of 1950. Following graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served on the USS Johnston DD821 until his honorable discharge in 1955.

Married on June 13, 1953, to Theresa “Teri” (Morin) and together they shared 50 plus wonderful years. Happily employed in the construction industry for many years building bridges across the state of

Maine, first for Ellis C. Snodgrass and later when they merged with the Cianbro Corporation.

In 1970, he joined his wife in the operation of Teri’s Ceramics at the Northwood Park Shopping Center in Lewiston until the sale of the ceramic business in 1986. He then moved one door down from that establishment and opened The Northwood Park Laundromat, and was a familiar figure at that shopping center until his retirement, due to ill health in 2000.

He was extremely dedicated to his entire family. Giving much of himself to his children and grandchildren. One of his many joys in his retired years, was preparing the noontime lunches which, will be greatly

missed.

He loved following and attending his grandchildren’s sporting or musical events and was a great fan of the Lewiston Maineiacs, attending all of their home games. He was a very witty and comical person and always

loved to tell or hear a (good) joke. He will be greatly missed by many whose lives he touched.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 50 plus years; a daughter, Karen LeBel and her husband Steve of Poland Spring; two sons, Steve and wife Diane of Lewiston and Bruce and wife Karen also of Lewiston; one granddaughter, Grace Ouellette; three grandsons, Thomas, Patrick and Scott Ouellette; and two stepgrandsons, Joel and Dylan LeBel.

He was predeceased by his son, Thomas; his parents; and a brother, Fernand.
