WILTON – The Wilton Day Extension will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at the fire department.

The program will be on food and nutrition with Meagan Burns, nutrition education professional. All are welcome.

Seniors meal

WILTON – SeniorsPlus will hold its Easter meal at noon on Thursday, April 8, at the center on routes 2 and 4. The wrong date was in the SeniorsPlus newsletter.

Participants are welcome to attend in their Easter bonnets. Everyone will get a mini-Easter basket.

The menu is roast pork with gravy, whipped potatoes, peas and onions, cran-apple sauce and confetti cake. As usual for a special meal, the donation requested from seniors age 60 and over, their spouses and people with disabilities is $3.50.

For others, the cost is $5. A reservation is required; people can call 645-3315.

Career courses

WILTON – The following sessions will be offered at the Wilton CareerCenter on Route 2.

Essentials of college planning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 8.

• Applications/work history /resumes from 8:30 to 10:30 Friday, April 9.

• Interviewing skills from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 9.

• General aptitude test battery from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 9.

• Test of adult basic education from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 12.

• Career decision making from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13.

Job Club will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. April 8, 15, 22, 29. The workshop offers a group format to support and assist the job seeker with strategies, leads, job preparation and possibilities.

WILTON – Friendship Squares Square Dance Club will host an April dance starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Cushing School. The caller will be Walter Lougee and the cuer will be Scott Williams. All are welcome.

Sheriff’s debate

CHESTERVILLE – The Chesterville Grange will hold a debate for the three candidates for the position of sheriff starting with a free 6 p.m. supper Saturday, April 10, at the grange hall. The meal will be followed by the debate. This is open to the public.

Bread sale

FARMINGTON – St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Easter bread sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 10, at the Twice Sold Tales Book Store on Main Street.

WILTON – An Easter roll and pie sale will be held from 9 a.m. until sold out Saturday, April 10, at the Wilton United Methodist Church.

Public supper

WILTON – The First Apostolic Church will hold a public supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the church. Menu includes baked beans, hot dogs, potato salad, cole slaw, breads and rolls and desserts. The supper will benefit the church building fund. Adults, $5; children 11 and up, $5; children 10 and under, $3.

Easter dinner

NEW SHARON – An Easter dinner will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at the New Sharon Methodist Church. The menu includes baked ham, raisin sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, yeast rolls, pies and beverages. It will be $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 years and under. It is sponsored by the Square and Compass Club to benefit their new Masonic building fund.

Easter services

INDUSTRY – Easter services for the Starks and West Mills Community churches include a sunrise service at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, April 11, at the Nutting residence on Seavey Road. An Easter breakfast will be held at 7:30 at Memorial Hall on Route 43 in Starks. Easter morning worship will be held at 10 a.m. at the West Mills Community Church on Route 148. Luncheon meeting

FARMINGTON – Luncheon reservations for the Franklin County Unit of the Maine Education Association of Retired teacher’s April meeting will be accepted until Monday, April 12. The meeting will be held at 11 a.m. April 19 at the Granary. Those attending are asked to bring the booklet, Read in Maine and Volunteering Hours.
