How we need a Roosevelt, Truman or Eisenhower!

I am almost 90-years-old and have never seen our country in the position we are in.

I was an armored combat soldier, and I am totally overcome by the grief for our young men being killed and wounded daily in Iraq. Many were Reserve and National Guard troops and are leaving families to survive without them. Washington needs to find a better answer.

President Roosevelt, during the great Depression, almost faced a revolution because of the economy. He acted promptly. He put men to work. A man who is working and taking care of his family is a happy individual. No fad or revolutionary thoughts. The young men, mainly in major cities, who were causing problems were given another program but away from the cities so they learned many trades and stopped big city problems caused when people are young and unemployed.

This could have been done in Iraq very easily. We are being hated by almost all of the Iraqis now. We were greeted by most of the population when we went in. What happened?
