LEWISTON – Alice Angelides, 98, of 21 Woodside Drive, died Friday, April 9, at her home.

She was born in Sparta, Greece on Sept. 28, 1905 the daughter of Peter and Georgia (Polikakou) Moskovis.

She was the widow of Michael D. Angelides, whom she married in 1922, and she was also the widow of Louis Pouravelis. With her husband Michael, she owned and operated several restaurants in Lewiston and Ellsworth. She later worked for 17 years at Paine Incense in Lewiston until her retirement.

She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church Of The Holy Trinity and the Greek Ladies Society.

Alice was an excellent cook and loved to give samples of her cooking to all her family and friends.She was a remarkable woman giving inspiration to all her family. She will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her son, Harry Angelides and wife, Julia of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Michael Angelides and wife, Susan of Columbia, Conn., Susan Leeman of Ketchikan, Ala., Aliki Caraganis and husband, Alfred of Lebanon, Conn., Bruce Angelides and wife, Nancy of Lewiston and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, James Angelides; three brothers, Peter, John, and Louis Moskovis and a sister, Marika Moskovis.
