LEWISTON – Ugly graffiti on the sides of buildings. Yelling and screaming late into the night, and shady characters hanging out.
Those are among the topics that will be discussed Wednesday at a “Railroad Park Community” meeting.
Police will meet with residents who live in the areas of River, Oxford, Lincoln, Cedar and Locust streets to discuss various concerns about the neighborhood.
The meeting will be held between 7 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, in the meeting hall above the Passe Temps Club at 45 Cedar St.
Residents and business owners are being encouraged to attend and voice their concerns and interests regarding ways to enhance the neighborhood and the city as a whole.
Police will be on hand to answer questions and offer insights to issues such as graffiti, loitering and disturbances.
“We’ll talk about the types of calls and the types of issues we see down there,” said Lewiston police Chief William Welch. “And we’ll encourage the people who attend to talk to us about their concerns.”
