The election is set for April 20.
JAY – Five candidates are seeking three Jay School Committee terms in the election Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Community Building.
Also on the ballot is Selectman Barry McDonald of East Jay, who’s unopposed for re-election.
Incumbent School Committee members Clint Brooks, Gene Uhuad and Cathy Butterfield are competing for two, three-year terms on the School Committee.
In the other School Committee race, Nancy Chaney is challenging Mary Redmond-Luce who was appointed by School Committee members to serve until the April 20 election after Jim Durrell resigned. Chaney and Redmond-Luce are vying for one one-year term.
Candidates were asked, “What is the most pressing issue facing the Jay school system?” and “How would you resolve it, if elected?”
