OAKLAND – A forestry/agroforestry conference will be held Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26, at Messalonskee High School. Participants can brush up on their knowledge of alternative forest products, learn new small business strategies and marketing techniques or tackle the issue of timber taxation among other subjects.

Keynote speaker on Friday will be Chris Drew, chief ranger at Baxter State Park, and there will be a dinner and music by “Woodsong.” Twenty seminars will be offered on Saturday, with lunch provided and opportunities to view products and services at the trade show.

The registration fee of $20 a person covers events on both days. Send registration before May 1, and the fee is $15 a person for the two days. Those who would like to attend the Friday night dinner will play an additional $10 a person.
