TEMPLE – Philip W. and Joanne D. Farrington celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Temple Community Church on Saturday, April 3.

Philip Farrington and Joanne Rackliffe were married on April 3, 1954, in Farmington. They raised seven children there before moving to Temple in 2000.

The anniversary party was hosted by their daughters, Karen Kreworuka of Buckfield, Kim Nielsen of Scarborough and Jennifer Fuerstenberger of Farmington. More than 80 guests attended the gathering, which included a renewal of wedding vows. Philip “Danny” Farrington, the couple’s eldest son, officiated.

Two members of the original wedding party, maid of honor Doris Lizotte of Auburn and best man Maynard Farrington of Wilton, participated in the renewal ceremony.

Among the guests were the couple’s seven children, including the aforementioned and Gary Farrington of Weld, Kevin Farrington of Wilton and Kendall Farrington of Chesterville, and 13 grandchildren, Mandy Jo and Josh Farrington, Cody Kreworuka, Kevin and Kristen Farrington, Jesse Bourgault and Brandon Nielsen, Eve Fuerstenberger, Heather and Kyle Farrington and Ann, Rose and Melody Lam. One great-granddaughter, Emma Farrington, also attended.
