PARIS – The Floyd A Harlow Jr. Post, VFW, and Auxiliary will meet Wednesday, May 5, at the post home in South Paris. A social hour at 5:30 p.m. will be followed by supper at 6. There has not been a program announced, but there will be a joint installation of officers of both units. All members are invited.

Scrapbook day

OXFORD – Scrapbooking to benefit the Boxberry School will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the school in Oxford. Join Tammy Potter for National Scrapbook Day. The $22 fee includes lunch. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the school. Call 743-9700 for details.

May events

OTISFIELD – The Oxford Hills Clergy will meet at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church for the monthly session.

The Oxford Hills Christian Men’s Group will hold a breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at the church. All men are invited. A minimal donation will be accepted. Call Earl Andrews at 539-8623 for more information.

Veterans’ outing

NORWAY – The Military Order of Purple Heart combat-wounded veterans of all wars are invited to a poolside/dug-out party to relax and reminisce with old buddies at noon Saturday, June 12, at Henry Leonard’s farm, 724 Greenwood Road.

Veterans are invited to bring their wives or fellow patriots for the free party and free GI-style lunch in the gazebo. Bring chairs.

The front lawn of the farm will be reserved from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the women to have a yard sale. Bring a table or mat for sale items. The proceeds will go to the sellers.

Bridge play

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge played a four-table Howell Movement on April 30 at Fare Share Commons, Main Street. Fred Letourneau and Mike Quinn came in first; Carol Curran and Woody Mercier, second; Pat Quinn and Lorraine Letourneau, third; and Marta Clements and her son, Bruce Clements, fourth.
