RUMFORD – Jerry L. Stinchfield, 57, died Monday, May 10, at the Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Wyman Hill Road in Rumford.
Born in Rumford, July 25, 1946, a son of Kenneth and Inaze (Murphy) Stinchfield, he was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, with the Class of 1965 and attended CMVTI in Auburn.
He worked a short time at Diamond Match in West Peru, a short time as a short order cook at Freddie’s Restaurant in Rumford and for many years worked for State Cable in Rumford, later owned and operated Jerry L. Stinchfield Construction Co. in Rumford for many years and for the past 15 years worked as a foreman at Cianbro Corp.
He was a member of Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and snowmobiling, especially camping at Dummer’s Beach in Weld.
He was married in Rumford, on July 2, 1966 to Melody Ann Marcellino, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include three daughters, Kim Marie Stinchfield of Chesterville, Tammie Jean Trimble and her husband, Raymond of Stockton Springs and Leslie Ann Ellis and her husband, John of Mexico; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Caitlyn Trimble of Stockton Springs; his mother, Inaze Stinchfield of Canton; brothers, Terry Stinchfield of Brownfield and Timothy Stinchfield and his wife, Carol of Mexico; and three sisters, Sylvia Hutchins and her husband, Walter of Rumford, Sandra Hutchins and her husband, Everett of Rumford and Nancy Crooker and her husband, Bill of Livermore Falls.
