WEST PARIS – Frances L. Jacques, 80, of Rumford, died Saturday at the Ledgeview Living Center.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and resided on Virgin Street, Rumford. She was born in Rumford on Jan. 7, 1924, a daughter of Frank C. and Rose Marie (Martin) Gallant, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford.

She was a Communicant of St Athanasius-St John Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She was married in Rumford, on Dec. 27, 1944 to the late Benoit R. Jacques, Sr. who died in Rumford on Sept. 27, 1974.

Survivors include a son, Benoit R. Jacques, Jr. and wife, Beatrice of Rumford; three daughters, Jean Perry and husband, Randy of Pinellas Park, Fla., Joan Frisbie and husband, William of Rumford and Judy Belanger and husband, Dennis of New Gloucester; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin “Mouse” Gallant of Rumford and Edwin Gallant of Ohio.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Weston, who died June 26, 2002 and a brother, Louis Gallant.
