LEWISTON – Phyllis Lorraine Leighton, 72, of 94 Spring St. died early Saturday morning at her home. She was born in Lewiston Aug. 3, 1931 a daughter of Eugene W. & Winnona I. (Nichols) Cloutier. She was educated in Lewiston schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community. She was married to Donald W. Leighton July 9th, 1949. He died January 19, 1992.

She was a member of the United Baptist Church, A.A.R.P., S.O.A.R. and Horizons 55. She worked at the Mammouth Mart department store and later Kings Dept. Store for 21 years prior to her retirement. Among her favorite enjoyments in her free time were spending time with her grandchildren, phone calls with family and friends and watching basketball on TV.

She leaves two daughters, Linda Swan and husband, Frank of Turner and Cheryl L. Levesque and husband, Normand of Lewiston; a son Donald P. Leighton and wife, Brenda of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Scott Swan and wife, Rechelle, Nicole Leighton and fiance, Tim Noel, Darren Leighton, Jeremy Lowe and wife, Lynn, Jarred Lowe, Kevin Levesque and Susan Levesque; three great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Tristan and Amber; a sister, Virginia Magliano and husband, Nicholas of Auburn and a son-in-law Brian Lowe of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, a daughter, Paula Lowe and a grandson, Chad Swan.
