LEWISTON – Abraham E. Caswell, 95, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Lewiston died peacefully Sunday, June 6, in Lewiston.

He was born Feb. 19, 1909, in Boston, the son of William and Bessie (Strasnik) Caswell and lived in Swapscott for over 40 years. He was educated in Lynn, Mass. He married Anna Harris on May 9, 1933. She died in 1977. He later married Lynn Beaulieu, who also predeceased him.

He worked for over 60 years in the show industry, owning his own business in Lynn and Claremont, N.H. In 1969, he moved to Lewiston to continue his career as president of Dori Shoe Company, retiring in 1981.

While living in Massachusettes, he was an avid golfer and was a charter member and past president of Kernwood Country Club. He was also a 50-year member of Mt. Sinai Lodge and the Aleppo Shrine.

He is survived by son, Loren and wife, Betsy; four grandchildren, Ginger Walters of South Berwick, Seth Caswell of N.Y., Kyle Caswell of Alpharetta, Ga. and Erica Myers of Dallas, Texas; six great-grandchildren, Sara, Debarah, Iliana and Robert Walters and Preston and Isabella Caswell of Alpharetta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Ada Caswell and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by son, Steven; two brothers, Morris and Jack and two sisters, Ann Callum and Sally Letterman.
