LIVERMORE – Charity Rebekah Lodge of Livermore Falls will hold its annual mystery ride on Wednesday, June 9.

Members will meet at 11 a.m. at their hall to carpool. The ride is arranged by Noble Grand Frances Berry.

Genealogy group meeting Saturday

FARMINGTON – The Sandy River Valley chapter of the Maine Genealogy Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at the Farmington Public Library. The program will be on research problems and suggestions for solving them. Anyone with an interest in genealogy is welcome to attend.

Craft vendors sought for July 30

FARMINGTON – The Downtown Business and Professional Association is accepting applications for vendors for Moonlight Madness, which will be Friday, July 30.

Vendors will be able to display and sell handcrafted items on Broadway at the event.

Summer reading program starts Thursday

FARMINGTON – The Public Library’s summer reading program for children will start June 10 and run until July 31. Prizes, which will be given as incentives, will include coupons for Gifford’s Ice Cream and Pizza Hut, as well as free admission to Boothbay Railway Village on Aug. 20.

The preschool story hour will continue at 10:15 a.m. on Fridays with the exception of the last two weeks in August.

Baby Rhymes will also continue at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesdays with the exception of the last two weeks in August.

Participation in the programs will be open to all, but if reading materials are to be taken home a library card is necessary. Borrowing privileges are free to Farmington taxpayers. Nonresidents pay $15 per household annually.

Flag Day program on Sunday

FARMINGTON – The annual Flag Day observation will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Elks Lodge on School Street in West Farmington.

There will be a formal salute to the flag and a flag burning ceremony immediately following by American Legion Post 28 of Farmington.

Refreshments will follow. The public is invited to attend this observation.

Softball contest opens Saturday

STRONG – The Lance Cpl. Scott Paul Park’s 11th annual one-pitch softball tournament will be June 12 and 13 at the Strong Legion Field. There is a $100 entrance fee for each team.
