SABATTUS – Lionel S. Tanguay, 68, of 6 Chris Ave., Sabattus, formerly of 32 Drummond St., Auburn, died June 8, at his residence, surrounded by his family, following a short illness.

Born in Lewiston, Oct. 27, 1935, the son of Cyrille and Clara (Royer) Tanguay, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Parish, and his hobbies included bird watching, carpentry and nature.

Survivors include three daughters and spouses, Doris and Allan Roy of Sabattus, Pauline and Bob Tanguay of Buckfield and Rolande and Ernie Waterhouse of West Bethel; his grandchildren, Jamie and Brian Roy, Shaun Tanguay, Andrew Blais and Melissa and Kayla Waterhouse; his great-grandchildren, Brandon Roy and Destiny Harvey; his sisters, Rita and John Giroux of Moscow, Jeannette Corriveau of Lewiston, Laurie and Real Perreault of Lewiston, Lorette Tanguay of Topsfield, Luciene Morin of Lewiston; and brother, Normand Tanguay of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by a son, Johnny Tanguay; and two brothers, Richard and Fernand Tanguay.
