FARMINGTON – A judge ordered a Farmington man held on $20,000 cash bail or $75,000 surety Thursday on charges of sexually assaulting two teenage girls.

Two other Farmington men were arrested in connection with a party on Evergreen Lane where beer and marijuana were allegedly given to three girls who were sexually molested.

Two of the girls are 14 and the third was 12, Farmington Detective Marc Bowering said.

Richard J. Mills, 26, was arrested Wednesday after a victim brought forth allegations of gross sexual assault to Farmington police the day after the incidents occurred.

Bowering said he conducted an investigation and charged Mills with three counts of gross sexual assault, one count of unlawful sexual contact, two counts of sexual abuse of a minor, and three counts of aggravated unlawful furnishing of Schedule Z drugs – marijuana.

Mills allegedly raped one 14-year-old twice and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old once, Bowering said.

Clifford Cavanaugh, 23, was charged with six counts of misdemeanor unlawful sexual contact with the other 14-year-old, Bowering said. Cavanaugh was released from jail on personal recognizance Wednesday.

On Thursday, Bowering arrested Jason Williamson, 19, and charged him with aggravated furnishing of Schedule Z drugs – marijuana, Bowering said. He was being held at Franklin County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.

A search warrant was executed at the trailer on Evergreen Lane and evidence was seized that is going to be sent to the state crime laboratory, Bowering said.
