EAST WILTON – Shannon Michelle Smith and Nicholas Robert Newell were married in a double ring outdoor ceremony on June 3 in East Wilton. The ceremony was performed by notary public, Noreen Coolidge.

The bride wore a Victorian style long sleeved wedding gown with scoop neckline and veil and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white daisies. The bridegroom wore his firefighter uniform and a yellow rose boutonniere.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth Smith and the late Mary Woodruff. She is employed as an inventory specialist at Wal-Mart in Farmington.

The bridegroom is the son of Gregory and Maryellen Newell. He is a firefighter for the Madison Fire Department and plans to relocate to the Farmington Fire Department. He is a self-employed contractor.

Best man was Kenneth Lewis and maid of honor was Susan French.

Destiny Smith, daughter of the bride, was flower girl and Dakota Nida, son of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception was held after the ceremony at the home of the couple in Farmington.
