RUMFORD – Terry Collins allowed just one hit over five innings to lead Locke Mills to a 12-0 win of Poland Thursday.

Collins had five strikeouts.

Locke Mills exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning, as the first eight batters reached base. Anthony Liberti connected on a three-run homer in the first, his fifth home run in his last three games.

David Lutz had the lone hit for Poland.

Gayton game suspended

LEWISTON – The game between Gayton Post and Smith-Tobey was suspended Thursday after eight innings because of darkness.

The two teams will complete the game on Saturday, July 24. The contest will be picked up with the score tied 5-5 in the top of the ninth inning..

Smith-Tobey entered the seventh inning leading 5-3, but Gayton Post tied it in the bottom of the seventh on a Ryan Turgeon single and a Tyler Turgeon fielder’s choice.
